About Qantas
Qantas is one of Australia’s most recognised trademarks and also the world’s top long-distance airline. Originally registered as the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited, it gradually came to be known through its acronym Qantas and is today the strongest brands in the country. Established sometime in 1920, it launched international passenger flights in May 1935. Qantas is the second oldest airline and still in existence. Headquartered in Mascot, close to Sydney International Airport, which is also its primary hub, the airline carried 14.9% of all passengers entering and leaving Australia in March 2014. At the time, it held 65% share of the domestic market in the country.
